Sweet Stamps- No Designer Paper

It's time for the Tuesday challenge at Sweet Stamps .  Our challenge theme for this week is, 'No Designer Paper'.
I used a technique called Build a Background from the April/May '14 Technique Junkies newsletter. I used 'springy' colors for the Creative Corners image- and I used the medium sized stamp in this set.I added a layer of Vellum over the top to soften the background. I stamped the three butterflies on Vellum and then on white card stock-which were fussy cut out. I just applied glue to the center of the butterflies- lots of dimension!
The Creative Corners stamps are new in the SweetStamps.com store- HERE is the link to the entire line. Each set of images comes in a set of three clear stamps- a small, a medium and a large image.

Here are the supplies I used on this card:

Happy Birthday Stacey!

At Sweet Stamps, we are creating to wish Stacey (store owner) a Happy Birthday!

I see these 'thought bubbles' all over, so I used the 'Out of the Box' technique when cutting the oval out- just by snipping a little triangle, then did the same thing with the Kitty's whiskers. I colored the image with Copics- and it is on Cryogen White cardstock, so it has shimmer to it. I distressed the edges, then added some stitching and sponging around the edges.

Stacey- I hope you have the best Birthday and are spoiled like crazy!!!  Thanks for being so good to your DT- it is a pleasure to design for you!

Hugs and Smiles!

Sweet Stamps- Anything Goes + New Release

It's another great challenge at Sweet Stamps .  Our challenge theme for this week is Anything Goes. The DT is using NEW Release Stamps- HERE is the link for all of the new sets: )

I used the new set Springtime Doodles (flourish) , and the sentiment is from the You Are Always on My Mind set. I used a Technique Junkie technique from Oct 2012 that I have not tried- called In the Middle.

This card was inspired by Sweetie DT Caylpso's recent card where she colored on Kraft with Prismacolor pencils. I used the Springtime Doodles set for the main (heart) image. The sentiment is from the Simple Greetings set. The red flower embellishment is a flower from the Globecraft & Piccolo Butterfly Flurry Flourishes set, and it is covered first with Red Inka Gold Paint, then covered it with Gloss finishing glaze. Once that was dry, I added a rhinestone colored with a Copic marker. I also added some Fairy Dust Creative Inspirations Paint to the butterflies and the blue bird.

Here are the Sweet Stamps products I used on my card:

I hope you will join in the challenge! Every entry qualifies you for a chance to win $20 of items from the store at Sweet Stamps, and if you use a Sweet Stamps image- you will receive an additional chance to win! The winner is chosen by Random.org- so everyone has a chance to win!

Foil Zentangle ATC's

My ATC group had an exchange for Foil Zentangle ATC's.  I love being challenged! I forgot to photograph my 1-4-1 ATC- I outlined an angel image from a rubber stamp.......

Here are a couple of my trades:

I have foil sheets for embossing, but did not realize it until my meeting was over...I used regular foil which I adhered to plain cardstock. I zentangled with the stylus I use for Parchment work onto the mat I also use for parchment work. I made these all different colors- colored with Copic/Bic markers.
I used a piece of cardstock that the center shape was cut out of and debossed around the circle, then Zentangled around the edges. The center was Zentangled and colored as well. I die cut the SweetCuts butterfly outline from Metallic cardstock.

Here are the swaps I rec'd back:
1-4-1 trade rom Mari:
And the rest of the trades:
Mary W- she used a copper Foil sheet- all of her trades were a different design- did I mention she is a fab artist?

By Mari S- loving the mini feathers.

Pink Heart- by Diane M

Zentangle on Foil by Deb M.

By Carol- our world traveler : )  The background is from a box she rec'd from Macy's. The Gear is by T.H. covered in foil.

By Diane S titled All about Art

  By Joann
And, last but not least- Linda O'Connor- pretty sure this foil is sanded where the silver flower is- fab!

What a blast trying this technique- and now that I have located my foil sheets, maybe I can try it again!

Sweet Stamps- Dryer Sheet Flowers

At Sweet Stamps we are making dryer sheet flowers for our Monthly challenge.
I have to hide used dryer sheets from my husband- he re-uses them...in the interest of a penny saved..... and then I go to work and have the worst case of Static Cling..... : )

Anyway, I tried a couple of different ways of coloring my dryer sheets- instead of using spray, I used Direct to dryer sheet (red) with Barn Door Distress Ink, and it worked fine.

I also colored directly onto the dryer sheet with Copics (yellow) - added a touch of  "O" to clean off my non-stick craft mat with the left over ink, and let that dry- worked fine as well.

I used my sewing skills to make my flowers- one is a straight piece of the dryer sheet gathered along one edge.

Next, I take both ends of the thread and pull them together and tie it into a knot. One is 1/4" x's 4" and the other is just a touch over 1/4" x's 6"

For the red rose, I cut a circle out of a dryer sheet, cut that around in a circle ~ 3/8" wide:

Next, I rolled the cut strip loosely around a skewer.

I added a couple of stitches of thread at the base so it would stay in place.  I added Stickles to all of the flower edges.

The floral images on the mail panels are stamped and colored with Copics. I used a dryer sheet glued on and glittered over the top. I added a little bit of gathered dryer sheet at the base of the card attached with sticky tape, then added my flowers.

Here are the Sweet Stamps supplies I used:

I hope you will join in the challenge! Every entry qualifies you for a chance to win $20 of items from the store at Sweet Stamps, and if you use a Sweet Stamps image- you will receive an additional chance to win! The winner is chosen by Random.org- so everyone has a chance to win!
