Washi Christmas trees

I hope you had a Blessed Christmas!  I spent the day at home with my sis and her family joining us for Christmas dinner.

I wanted to share a card I made for the Technique Junkie newsletter- Washi Shapes. I used a die from Sweet and Sassy Stamps and some fun Washi for my card.
I added Green Distress Ink to the edges. I also added color to the star, then embossed it with some glimmery shimmery EP.
We are headed to Kentucky tomorrow for some fun family time- thinking all of the siblings will be there this year!!!

 Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Stamps Anything Goes

It's another great challenge at Sweet Stamps .  Our challenge theme for this week is Anything Goes.

I have LOTS of Nieces and Nephews- and they are at the age where they ask for Gift Cards (boo).  I saw a post on Paige's Blog for a nice way to present Gift Cards- Matchboxes.  So, I decided to go ahead and make a few- I have few more to go yet......
I took pictures along the way so you can see what I did- another fun use for the Envelope Punch Board!

 Here we go.......
Start with a 6 x 6 piece of cardstock. Punch and score:
Side A  @ 2" and 3" ,  Side B @ 3" and 4", Side C @ 2" and 3" and Side 3 @ 3" and 4"
Notice that 2 ends are 'smaller' than the other 2 sides.

On one of the ends, you will punch the notch Fold over the end tab, insert it into the punch board- 'eyeball' the center and punch.

 It will look like this:

Fold over on the score lines to crease them well. I added one more crease as you might see- on the flaps, for when I fold them over to glue them down...I do this by just folding them over (I do not use the score board for that).

Cut these slits on both ends, fold them up and in....and glue them to the end piece.

After you glue the end tabs, glue down the tabs as shown above.  Next, you will cut a piece of the DP to slide inside on the bottom.

Glue ribbon to the bottom of the box before you adhere the cardstock over the bottom of the box- that will hold the gift card in place : )

Next, I did a little math and figured out how to made a cover for the box.Use score line tape to attach the end.You can decide where you want the seam at. I cut the DP at 3 3/4 x 6 1/2. I had to piece the DP to make it 6 1/2 " wide. I scored at 1/4",  1", 3 3/8", 4 1/8" and 6 1/2" for my cover.

Now all you have to do is add your embellishments : )

Here are the Sweet Stamps products I used for my Matchboxes:

Alcohol Ink ATC's

I joined a swap for Alcohol Ink's through Rubberstamp Chat again : )
I made a AI background on Yupo Paper, added some die cut evergreens and made ornaments from an Aluminum can. I colored the aluminum shapes, then put them through an embossing folder and sanded the raised portion. I added stickles to the outer edges and on the evergreens, and stamped a sentiment from Amuse (that I won). Here is a link to Stamped Blessings Challenge, where you can use any image- the hostess Chris is an Amuse demo, and the current challenge is Anything Goes.

Here are the ATC's I recieved in return:
This ATC is from Diane M., and is watercolored with Alcohol Ink's

MarionClare made this ATC- the butterflies are created with AI , embossed with an embossing folder and then punched out.

Alsmouse made this ATC- it is an AI background on glossy in blue with a fish stamped and colored. Next, Alcohol Ink was added to acetate which is then embossed with Spellbinders Sea Beauty EF. The seashell is also cut out and adhered to acetate which is also embossed.

Deb Lovett made this fun ATC- Alcohol Ink was applied to a playing card. The image is colored with AI permanent markers and spritzed with Glimmer Mists.

Renee made this fun ATC using Alcohol Ink for the background, then stamped a festive image and sentiment.

Yankee aka Sheila Rose made this colorful ATC using the Tim Holtz monoprint technique.

I hope your holiday Preparations are going well and will pray for safe travels for all!

Row House(s) Swap

My ATC group made Row Houses for our December project. We made two for each trade and they were 1" wide and could be any height- up to 3 1/2". We had 9 ladies trade. Here are my Row Houses:

I found a post on the Fiber-Castell blog done by Mieshia for large houses- and since I have not had my Gelato's out for a while, I decided to give it a go in this mini size....... I had fun getting out all of my unused metal embellishments.

I used 'old' and unmarked TJ scraps for the house- Walnut Ink Resist- and roof -unmarked "UFO' Technique Junkie technique.

More fun in my scrap box.....  a couple with Alcohol Inks, watercolor, Simple Sumi and Cuttlebug Highlight. I made misc doors and other accents.

More Simple Sumi, Watercolor and fun with doors and windows.

Here are the houses I recieved back in the trade:
Mary W made the three on the Lt; and Mari made the two on the Rt.

Harriet  made the 2 on the Left, and Sandy the 2 on the Right

Cindy made the houses on either end and Diane M. made the center two houses.

Trena made the Lt two houses and Debbie the Rt two houses.

A Christmas ATC from Mary : )

I really enjoyed the row houses- the goal is to connect the houses and made a little scene on the mantel.  I may make a few more to add to my 'collection.

Sweet Stamps- Glitter

It's challenge time at Sweet Stamps , and we are using glitter this week.
The oval panel the wreath is stamped on uses Microfine glitter, and I also used Christmas Red Stickles.

For the oval panel, I took 2" Scor Tape and applied it to white cardstock- then I put the cardstock and the die through the die cutting machine. Peel off the shiny top of the Scor Tape exposing the sticky top, and apply Microfine glitter. I use my finger to burnish it well. Next, I stamp and color with Copic markers. So easy and a fun shimmery look!  (the only hard part is taking a picture of the shimmer!).

I used Copics G24, G28 then dabbed on some YG25. For the bow, I used R24 and R37. I added highlights around the image and dotted it on the oval with W1 and W3.
