Sweet Stamps- Cold & Snowy.......

The Sweet Stamps Challenge this week is Cold and Snowy.
I decided to made a flip card:
The snowman is painted using Creative Inspirations paint : )

It is so hard to capture glimmer in the pictures.......
I  had fun using glittery Embossing Powders- the snowman is embossed using Black Sparkly EP and the snowflakes in Ivory Sparkle EP.  I used clear EP on the snowman panel background (emboss resist) -the cardstock was white to begin with. The snowflake in the upper left corner and both sentiments are stamped in the clear embossing ink, then in the Nassau blue and then clear embossed.
The left side panel is embossed using Coordinations cardstock, then sanded and the raised embossed areas  painted with Creative Inspirations Fairy Dust paint. The right side is Bo Bunny Designer Paper. The flip side of the snowman panel is also the same DP with more snowflakes and the Merry Christmas sentiment.

Here are the Sweet Stamps products I used on my card:

TJ Just One November

In the Technique Junkies group, we can choose to participate in a 1-4-1 swap.  I used the 'On the Side' technique and made this card:
I joined a Yahoo group calles Oriental Stamp Art (OSA) and used the challenge there #199- a color challenge hot pink and yellow.  The stamps are from Invoke and a retired Hero Arts background stamp. I stamped and embossed the image, then colored using a Sakura Gelly Roll pen and a Copic Glitter pen in pink- so there is shimmer and added shimmer- I spritzed over the top of the image with Glimmer Mist.

Here is the card I received from Barb Presley:

Barb used the Color Wash Alcohol technique and the images- Club Scrap. You cannot see the subtle shimmer on the card- so pretty!

Sweet Stamps- Thank You

The weekly  Sweet Stamps Challenge is Thank You this week.

I had some fun finally getting out my Technique Junkies newsletter and used the 'On The Side' technique. This is almost a one layer card......
I also had fun using glittery Embossing Powders- the snowman is embossed using Black Sparkly EP and the silver snowflakes, sentiment and border in Fantasy Silver EP. I ran the edges of the cardstock over the embossing pad and then dipped it in the EP to add another layer of dimension around the snowman panel.
I used Shades Die Ink- Nassau for the stamped snowflakes and the sponging. I colored the image with Copic markers and added Sakura Gelly Roll pen for added shimmer- Love this pen! It never gives me grief or clogs up....the sparkle is fabulous!
I finished off the card with a die cut snowflake using Holographic cardstock.

A Suspenseful Challenge.........

There is a new challenge at Sweet Stamps Challenge we are focusing on Techniques on the 15th of each month- and our first technique challenge is to make a Suspension Card.aka Floating Spinner card (Technique Junkies 4/06).
The image is stamped (twice- once for each side of the center medallion) on Neehah cardstock with Tuxedo Memento Black ink. (The image and die cut on the reverse side are exactly the same as the front side).  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I die cut the image with the (Nellie Snellen) Multi Frame Circle Die. Instead of having a tight cut, I decided to cut out a larger frame, so used the (MariAnne Designs) Pointy Circle Frame & Flower Die.
I stitched a piece of Gold cardstock to blue Coordinations cardstock for the card front panel. It was embossed using the Damask folder. Next, I took the blue portion of the panel and cut it apart and used it to embellish the 4 corners of the card. I added rhinestones- and used the YR23 Copic Marker to make them Gold. I added Yellow Stickles around the border.
 A side view:

Silver Bells.....Silver Bells......!

This week at the Sweet Stamps Challenge we are creating using Gold or Silver.

Here is my first card- Shimmer and more shimmer. The image is on  Silver Lustre cardstock. The embossing powder is very shimmery IRL- so hard to photograph it....!  I colored the image with Spica Glitter pens and added highlights with the Sakura Gelly Roll pen. The darker Silver color is just another layer of the Silver Glitter pen.

This is SU Silver Metallic cardstock. Again, I used the Spica Glitter Pens and the Sakura Gelly Roll pen. The Ivory embossing powder is very glittery as is the Silver EP at the bottom.  I painted on a think layer of Creative Inspirations Fairy Dust pain on the button to shimmer it up too.

Here are the Sweet Stamps products I used on my card:

Kim's November SU Workshop

I took an evening out of my crazy schedule and enjoyed Kim's SU workshop- we made 4 cards and everything is designed and cut for us- fabulous and relaxing!
Kim had the shapes all ready- we stamped the image and embossed it, sponged on color and added the sentiment , bow and the dimensional leave and acorns for the base layer. We added shimmer on the embss resist panel too- love this!

Next, we did some maker thumping.....I have been resisting this set and the dies...I may have to cave...... We have farmers on both sides of the family......

I have to admit- I have had this hostess set for ages and have not inked it up.....I LOVE this whimsical leaf........  and the new SU buttons........

LOVE this Thanksgiving card- my camera made the pumpkin wonky colored......  It is way better IRL!  The cardstock is Vanilla and Almost Artichoke.  The Pumpkin is made on Pumpkin CS and sponged with Cajan Craze with a touch of Soft Suede on the edges.
We used the new Embossing Powder in brown...may have to get that too!

I think Santa is going to bring me the new stamp pads for Christmas........what are people doing with the old ones???  Sell them on e-bay?

Sweet Stamps- Christmas

This week at the Sweet Stamps Challenge we are creating Christmas cards.
I usually make religious cards to send out, but I have a few friends who they are not appropriate for.... This fun image is a new release from Sweet Stamps. Growing up in a big family, we had our share of snowball fights- Oh...memories!
The image is colored in Copics and Creative Inspirations Paint. The sentiment is also colored with Copics and has Liquid Applique added to the splat 'O' with Creative Inspirations Paint stirred into it. The Candi Brads are also painted with CI paint. I used a sponging tool that has an open pattern with the Blue Ice CI paint and added shimmer to the image panel. A little more shimmer was added with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen- love this pen- on the snowball and on the girls trim and snowman's scarf.
                         ************************************************
I want to show you what you can do if your dies you want to use are too big for your image......  The next smallest die was just too small.....

So, I line up the top and the sides and cut this out....... (above).

Next, figure out where you want the bottom to cut out, and place the cardstock in the die where you want it. Now, flip the die and image over and make sure the edges are lined up inside the lines/ridges of the die. Use double sided-removable tape to hold your cardstock just where you want it.

                                                                                  Viola!

M5D Falling Leaves........

Falling leaves- a new digi stamp set from Studio 313 at McMahon Five Designs came along just while I was playing with (aka trying to.....) figure out how to merge or move around digital images in Word........
Well, I figured out how to select 'weld' (Lt click and not Rt click), then select tight...and now I can move the image to anywhere I want it to be on my page.  So, I went click crazy and filled the page with leaves- placed the sentiment in the center.......
Now I just have to figure out how to make a scene.........
I used a Technique Junkies technique called Distress Dip- which I did after the images were printed on the cardstock. I decided to be really crazy and make the leaves dimensional and cut out duplicates of all of the leaves and dipped them too- just in a tiny bit lighter so they would stand out a touch...... I love fall colors....

I thought I would try to set up a CAS card using the Weld then tight that I just learned....... and used a freebie that is available when the Fall Leaves digi set is purchased. I colored the image with Copics and used the Technique Junkies techniques Layer up and Copic Texturizing:
